Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) is software that provides secure e-mail, shared contacts, calendars, calendar sharing, document sharing and also includes spam and virus filtering. Zimbra synchronizes with Macs, Windows and Linux computers and support is provided for standards-based APIs (IMAP / POP / iCal / CalDAV) as well as MAPI and iSync, which enable compatibility with other clients like Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Mail, Apple desktop suite, and Mozilla Thunderbird.

Ajax based web collaboration is at the heart of the Zimbra. Also included, the web client integrates email, contacts, shared calendar, VoIP, and online document authoring into a rich browser-based interface. Zimbra’s open source Zimlet technology enables users to include custom 'mash-ups' in the ZCS web client. ZCS also features an Ajax-based Admin Interface plus full scripting tools to manage your ZCS server and/or accounts.

Supporting one to several million mailboxes, Zimbra software is available as a hosted solution for a monthly fee for individuals and smaller organizations, and licensed yearly, installed on servers at large enterprises.
